Our Hospital Staff Has Voted to Remain "Mask Mandatory" for Another Month

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

We still ask that no more than 3 adults wait in the canine waiting room and no more than 2 adults wait in the feline waiting room. If the area is crowded, please wait outside.

INDEPENDENCE DAY IS ALMOST HERE

For us, this means barbecue, games with family, holiday, friends, and fireworks. For dogs and cats, it can mean abject terror. More pets go missing on the Fourth of July than any other day. Be prepared. Here are some tips:    Be sure your pet is microchipped just in case. Consider boarding your pets if you are not going to be home. Plan ahead and get anxiety-busting medication before it sells out.

SILEO^® GEL FOR DOGS
This product was made for noise phobia. A special dosing syringe is used to apply a minty gel in your dog's cheek pouch (not in the actual oral cavity). Multiple doses can be used as long as there are at least 2 hours between dosages.

GABAPENTIN LIQUID OR CAPSULES
Another helpful anxiety buster especially helpful for cats. Give it 2-3 hours before dark. Some sedation can be expected so be sure to restrict your pet from stairs or jumping up or down on furniture.

ALPRAZOLAM and TRAZODONE
Popular for dogs expected to experience panic. Ask your vet about a prescription for your dog as the holiday approaches.
