VALENTINE'S DAY IS COMING AND WITH IT COME THE FLOWER DELIVERIES, BUT
DID YOU KNOW...
...MANY OF THE COMMON BOUQUET FLOWERS ARE TOXIC TO PETS?
Whether you expect to be sending or receiving flowers, it is a good idea to know what flowers are OK when stem-chewing curious cats are around.

You can't go wrong with roses especially if there is nothing else in the arrangement. |

Looking for something less formal? Daisies are a safe bet. |

Probably skip the Calla lilies. They have very irritating chemicals for the mouth and stomach when chewed. They won't cause long term damage but they won't be any fun. |

Probably skip the carnations for the same reason: very irritating when chewed on. |

ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Stargazer lilies, Tiger lilies, in fact, any Asiatic lilies will cause kidney failure in a stem-chewing cat. If you are sending flowers to a cat lover or if you are a cat-owning flower recipient, leave the lilies out or put the flowers where the cat absolutely cannot access them. |
Everyone have a happy Valentine's Day! |
