CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR OWN ERIC OROZCO ON HIS RESIDENCY ACCEPTANCE

ERIC OROZCO

We would like to take this time to congratulate our own Eric Orozco and wish him well on his future as he embarks this month on his poultry medicine residency at the University of Mississippi. Eric started as a veterinary school graduate from Mexico City and came to us as a talented technician and we were lucky to have showcased his service to our community. We wish him great success in the future!

DID YOU KNOW ...that there are a whole lot of new regulations for airline travel for pets?

Pets can travel on a plane in one of four ways:

  • Cargo
  • Checked Luggage
  • In the cabin in carrier
  • In the cabin out of the carrier

Cargo transport involves personnel trained in animal transport and environmentally controlled areas. The problem is that it is charged by distance traveled and by weight.

Checked luggage is cheaper but your pet travels with baggage. This might involve those open air carts one sees on the tarmac. This is not always safe and is not recommended.

Pets in the cabin must fit in a carrier under the seat ahead which limits pet size greatly. Emotional support animals may travel in the cabin outside the carrier.

Numerous airlines have decided to require special documentation of the emotional support status of a pet.
Be sure you know what paperwork is required in advance.

Some airlines limit transport of short-faced breeds during the Summer when desert destinations are involved.
Again, find out what you need to know before you head off to your vacation.

A Special Thank You to our Referring Clients

We are honored when our clients refer their friends and family to our hospital and as a token of thanks, we credit their account $25 for each new client they bring. This month we wish to thank:

Rebecca Baeza
Graciela Escalera
Susan O'Neal
Liz Rossi
Simon Thrush

To obtain the $25 credit, the referred client cannot have the same address as the referring client. The referred client must have received medical services for their pet in order to generate a credit for the person who referred them (retail or pet food sales or services at vaccination clinic do not count toward referral credit).
