Our Hospital Staff Has Voted to Remain "Mask Mandatory" for Another Month

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

We still ask that no more than 3 adults wait in the canine waiting room and no more than 2 adults wait in the feline waiting room. If the area is crowded, please wait outside.

FACE MASKS REQUIRED INDOORS (at least for now)

We thank you for several years of awards and assure you we are working as hard as ever to provide you with excellent service and even more excellent pet medical care. We hope you will take a moment to vote for us as best Veterinary Clinic.

Go to Argonautnews.com and click the Best of the Westside banner (or click the banner above).

Fill in your email address and follow the instructions.

Vote only in the categories you feel knowledgeable about and you may vote daily if you wish. You can even vote daily on each device you own (phone, tablet, laptop etc.). The list is alphabetical by category, so Best Veterinary Clinic is #89. Voting ends noon on September 1.

Again, our goal is not to win an award so much as to deserve to win an award. We hope we have earned a place in the winner's circle this year. Thanks again!

DID YOU KNOW ....

... THAT GRAPES ARE POISONOUS TO DOGS?

(and actually Raisins are even worse)

This is because of tartaric acid which causes kidney damage and ultimately kidney failure in dogs. Cream of tartar is also a culprit for the same reason so if you buy homemade baked dog treats, be sure to check the ingredient list for cream of tartar and feed something else if you see it. And no granola with raisins, either.

If you dog gets into grapes or raisins, vomiting should be induced as soon as possible. If this occurs after hours or if there is some reason why we are not able to handle the emergency, you can call National Animal Poison Control for instructions:

(888) 426-4435.
(If your dog has a HomeAgain microchip, you can get your poison control consultation free at 1-888-HomeAgain)
