Dr. Moore's Novel Wins Book Publishers Award
The Benjamin Franklin AwardsTM are presented each year by the Independent Book Publishers Association. Named in honor of America's most cherished publisher/printer, the Benjamin Franklin AwardsTM recognizes excellence in independent publishing. The trophies are awarded to the best books in several categories and are presented to the publishers during a gala awards ceremony on the last evening of the Publishing University (just before the opening of Book Expo America).
In the category of Best First Book (Fiction), the winner for 2008 is
Griffin’s Daughter, written by our very own Dr. Leslie Moore. Griffin’s Daughter is the first in a trilogy of fantasy novels. The story concerns the adventures of Jelena, a half-elven girl as she struggles to find her true self and heritage.
The book is available at our animal hospital (if you ask Dr. Moore and she might sign a copy for you), and should be available at all your favorite bookstores.
