PET BEHAVIOR AND TRAINING EXPERTS IN OUR AREA
Dog training companies and behavior management experts come by our hospital on a regular basis and want to leave business cards or other advertising materials with us. We rarely accept these offers as we
feel that our clients assume we are endorsing these groups when in fact we do not have experience with most of them. Still, we need to start somewhere when our clients need a behavior expert or even a simple
puppy socialization trainer. We have collected this list of trainers and behaviorists. We invite our clients to send in testimonials which we may post which can help others in selecting behavioral assistance for pets. I Said Sit Services 1-800-400-TRAIN This company has been established locally for many years. Puppy classes, basic training, and in-kennel training programs are offered.
Animal Behavior & Training Associates, Inc. 1-800-795-DAWG This is the web site for Animal Behavior and Training Associates, one of the largest training groups in the Los Angeles area. This is the group that our own Dr. Brooks used to train her own dogs and she recommends their services highly. Private training and classes are both available. Free training tips available by phone.
Animal Behavior Counseling Services, Inc. 1-800-605-2227 One of the few behavior managers/trainers with a Ph.D., Richard Polsky offers behavior modification for both problem cats as well as dogs. Established nearly 20 years in this area.
Bill Stavers Pet Training and Behavior Consultations (310) 500-9156 Bill Stavers comes very highly recommended by several local veterinarians. He offers in-home dog training, puppy classes, and helps with both canine and feline behavior problem solving.
DogProblems.com Services include a free newsletter one can subscribe to through their web site as well as a free question/answer area. Videos for sale. No actual classes or hands on with the trainer, however.
The Tender Tutor 1-818-766-6558 Offers both training classes and some behavior problem management for dogs.
Animal Attraction Unlimited Deals primarily with behavior problems in dogs.
Dog Remedy 310-390-0380 This group specializes in solving canine behavior problems such as: Agression, Barking, Chewing, Digging, Jumping & Hyperactivity. The program primarily uses private lessons.
PAWSitive Solutions 1-800-920-PAWS Provides regular training in addition to behavior problem solving for dogs. They are based most locally in Orange County (not very convenient to our area.)
The Dog Whisperer / Dog Psychology Center 323-235-3431 Extra special help for the aggressive dog. Intensive individual training available.
877-736-4443 Caryl Wolff is the first Los Angeles dog trainer to pass both the prestigious Certified Pet Dog Trainer’s exam and be endorsed by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors. Caryl teaches classes for puppies and dogs in obedience and manners, agility & tricks and also conducts private sessions throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. She has solved behavior problems for many clients.
