FALL FELINE ELECTIVE SURGERY SPECIAL We want the Summer Kittens to get off on the right paw in their new homes. With adolescence comes such objectionable behavior as fighting, caterwauling, urine marking, and furniture scratching. To help our kittens grow up into well-behaved ladies and gentlemen, we offer a low-cost special once a year as a service to our community for six weeks in the fall. A full service hospital at clinic prices! Between OCTOBER 1st & NOVEMBER 15th the following elective surgeries are half price:
vaccinations; cats must weigh at least 3 lbs for neutering and 4 lbs for spaying) Click on any of the above procedures to go to it’s corresponding web page for detailed information on the surgery, it’s implications and/or alternatives available. Welcome to our Newest Staff Member: Maria Amore Our newest staff member is a licensed animal technician originally from Detroit, Michigan. Maria has been working with animals for 14 years. After graduating a Veterinary Technician program at Macomb Community College in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Maria became a licensed Animal Technician in both Michigan and California.
Maria lived in Santa Monica for 5 years before moving back to be with her family in Detroit, but only withstood two winters before returning to our great weather here in Southern California. Her personal menagerie includes a Rotweiller named Claudia (shown above), an Oriental Short Hair feline named Mr. Fat Man and a Domestic Long Hair cat called Edgar.
For information on any other of the Mar Vista Animal Medical Center staff, including the Doctors, the Receptionists and the Animal Technicians, click here. The current plans are for shows the Friday night before Halloween, on October 30th, as well as Saturday the 31st, and will include in
the cast Dr. Brooks and Richard Baltin, our office manager. Last year, Richard (as Dr. Frankenstein) and Dr. Brooks (as The Bride of Frankenstein’s monster) were a big hit in a
song and dance number with the Monster. This year? Well, you’ll have to watch to find out! The shows should begin around 8 pm at 1902 Midvale Avenue. That’s one block south of
little Santa Monica Blvd., and one block west of Westwood Blvd. For your listening and entertainment pleasure, we have compiled a few of the songs from past
performances of the annual Sanborn House productions. The Shockwave plug-in for your browser is required to hear these songs. Due to Shockwave for Director’s streaming audio
capabilities, you should hear these songs well even with only a 28.8k modem (and possibly even a 14.4k modem, but we haven’t tested that!) If you see the blue controller box below
(which means you do have the Shockwave plug-in) but don’t hear the songs, you might just need the current version of the plug-in. Go back to our Home Page, click on the Get
Shockwave button, install the newest plug-in, and it should work just fine. Happy Halloween! NEW ON OUR WEB SITE
NEUTERING THE MALE CAT New product of the month:
Dental home care is the single most important aspect of regular dental care. With proper home care, your pet may not need that six month dentistry, thus saving you the expense and your pet the extra anesthetic. For more information on home dental care options for your pets, see our Dental Home Care page in the Pet Web Library.
