NEW: MISSING LINK PLUS

For Dogs with Joint Pain

Missing Link nutritional supplement is rich in omega 3 fatty acids which have anti-inflammatory properties for both skin and joint disease. Missing Link Plus has glucosamine added to yield a special joint-strengthening bonus. If you are looking for a little nutritional help for an arthritic dog, consider Missing Link Plus, a new product this month.

Heard about Glucosamine but aren’t sure what it’s about? Veterinary and human glucosamine supplements have been available for 5 years or more. Glucosamine is a cartilage building block, used by the body to repair joint cartilage damaged by degenerative arthritis. For more information about glucosamine, click here.

Curious about Missing Link supplements in general?

KNOW ANY PETS WHO WON’T TAKE THEIR MEDICINE?

We can order your pet’s prescription through a Compounding Pharmacy
   and possibly change that!.

A compounding pharmacy specializes in reformulating medications in special sizes, doses and flavors. Sometimes one of our patients may need a medication that is not available “off the shelf,” or may need a dose that is only one-fourth of a tablet or one-sixth of a capsule. Sometimes drugs we require may have been discontinued by the manufacturer due to low sales, or a newer drug has taken it’s place. For any of these situations, a compounding pharmacy can help. If your pet just won’t take his or her medication, reformulating it into liquid or chewable fish or chicken flavor may do the trick.

Compounding pharmacies are able to ship their specialized medications nationwide; we happen to be fortunate, however, and have American Health Solutions almost around the corner (and they deliver)! For those who may not be in our local area, we have assembled a list of compounding pharmacies in the Pharmacy Center of our web site. To view the list directly, click here.

Our Web Site Has Moved!

In 1997 we started as a few web pages linked by a sparse home page taking up a few measly kilobytes on a friend’s server. The time has finally come to move our extensive internet opus to a larger server and at last register a domain name.

We are now www.marvistavet.com

Please update your bookmarks accordingly.

WHAT’S NEW ON OUR WEB SITE (since last month)

    NOTOEDRIC MANGE
Dogs get sarcoptic mange but what do cats get? It turns out they have their very own mange mite: Notoedres Cati. Notoedric mange is a rarity worldwide and many veterinary dermatologists never see a single case in their entire careers. Notoedric mange exists in small regional “hotbeds,” one of which happens to be the Greater Los Angeles area. Our hospital normally sees at least one confirmed case a month, usually in outdoor or shelter cats. Visit this page in The Pet Web Library for both an explanation and pictures.

    BONINE (MECLIZINE HYDROCHLORIDE)
An excellent motion sickness product for people that can also be used for car-sick pets. Need more information before your next trip? Check this web page in our Pharmacy Center first.
