Support Our Troops by Fostering a Pet
When a reservist is called to active duty, the pet is left behind. Many pets belonging to soldiers need foster care on a temporary basis. If you are interested in fostering a cat or dog for a member of the armed forces please see details at:

WHAT’S NEW IN OUR WEB SITE LIBRARIES (since last month)

LONG TERM THERAPY FOR HEART FAILURE
Heart failure is obviously an emergency. Once we have revived a pet’s heart, however, what can be done to prevent another episode? Visit this page in The Pet Web Library to read about several long term therapy options.

    FELINE DISTEMPER
Feline distemper (also called "feline panleukopenia") is a generally lethal infection in kittens and young adult cats. It has no relationship to canine distemper but is closely related to canine parvovirus.  This virus forms the basis of regular feline vaccination. and represents one of the most classical diseases in feline practice. For more details, read this newest page in The Vaccine Mezzanine.

    CYPROHEPTADINE
This medication is technically an antihistamine but is more commonly used as an appetite stimulant. This page in The Pharmacy Center reviews side effects to watch for.

    RUPTURED ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT (RACL)
This is the most common rear leg injury of the dog and usually requires surgery. We get a lot of questions about how to tell if a dog has this injury and what to do about surgery. For an explanation of the condition and its treatment, Visit the newest page in The Surgery Suite..

    MENINGIOMA
This brain tumor is probably the most common cause of seizures in dogs over age six  years of age..Read this page in The Pet Web Library to find out more about it’s signs, the tests that can be done and several treatment options.

    TERBINAFINE
Terbinafine is a relative new antifungal medicine available in both topical and oral formulations. It is used primarily in the treatment of ringworm, which is not a worm but a fungus.  Experience is still limited in veterinary patients, but to see what we know, read this page in The Pharmacy Center.
