New Equipment

Periodically we introduce new equipment to raise our level of patient care. This month we are proud to introduce a Tono-pen to our hospital.

This instrument represents the state of the art in glaucoma testing. Glaucoma is a painful condition sometimes beginning as simply as a reddened eye. With this equipment just a couple of taps on the eye surface reads the eye pressure.

Glaucoma is a painful blinding disease in pets just as it is in people. The measurement of eye pressure is called “Tonometry.”

GARDEN TIPS: SAFE PLANTS

If unplanned periodic demolition of the garden by the family dog is a fact of life, it is good to know the plants he or she is chewing up are non-toxic. It may not help the garden any, but knowing your pet isn’t going to get sick because of it is one less thing to worry about. This month’s featured safe garden plants that are safe for your pets are presented below:

Shrub Althaea or Rose of Sharon

Asparagus fern

Bottlebrush

Just helping out with a little gardening

WHAT’S NEW ON OUR WEB SITE (since last month)

    FLEA ANEMIA
We all know fleas are a nuisance and can lead to itching and dermatitis, but did you know a heavy flea infestation can be life threatening? The owners of most victims were not aware of the problem. Read more about this condition and who’s most at risk in the newest page in the Pet Web Library.

    FELINE ASTHMA
We have recently remodeled this page with new images and added information on treatment.
