WHAT’S NEW ON OUR WEB SITE (since last month)

    CYCLOSPORINE
Cyclosporine is an immune-suppressive drug with a unique mechanism applicable for a long list of inflammatory diseases. Most recently it has been approved for relief of itchy skin in dogs with airborne allergies, a big breakthrough in the management of the itchy dog. For more information, visit the newest page in The Pharmacy Center.

    CHRONIC STEROID USE
Our pharmacy library has sections on most commonly used corticosteroids (like prednisone and dexamethasone) and lists their common side effects. An entirely different group of side effects emerges with long term (months) usage. We now have a brief article on this topic in The Pet WebLibrary.

    EXOCRINE PANCREATIC INSUFFICIENCY
You are what you eat.  Well, at least those of us with normal exocrine pancreatic function are, anyway. Those without digestive enzymes only dream of being what they eat. Instead, they are skinny, gassy, and have diarrhea. 80% are German Shepherds.  Fortunately this is a treatable condition. Learn more about this disease on this page now in The Pet Web Library.

    VON WILLEBRAND'S DISEASE
Everyone has heard of Hemophilia and knows it is an inherited blood clotting problem. Not everyone has heard of von Willebrand's disease which is the most common inherited blood clotting disorder of the dog. Is your breed at risk? Check out this page in The Pet Web Library to learn more about this disease and which breeds are most likely to be affected.
